Solar Tubes
Solar tubes are like skylights, but better! A standard skylight, though attractive, is a poor insulator. Many have an “R-Value” of one, meaning that they are only marginally better than having an open hole in your roof. Meanwhile, they only bring light into the room directly below them. Solar tubes, on the other hand, are like small skylights attached to long, shiny metal ducts. Light bounces through the duct – even if it makes turns and twists – and pours out the other side. They result in far less heat loss, and bring bright, natural light into previously dark parts your home. You can save energy and forget the light switch!
